This course has been developed for practitioners wanting to gain knowledge, information and certification in the subject of Professional Water Damage Restoration: Mitigation, Remediation & Structural Drying for Practitioners.
The content and information has been set at ‘practitioner’ level, incorporating hands‐on applications and will enable the learner to develop the necessary knowledge and skills at a higher level required to undertake professional water damage mitigation, remediation and structural drying at technician, supervisor and junior management levels.
The course has enabled Property Repair to develop the necessary knowledge and skills required to undertake specific aspects of water damage mitigation, remediation and structural drying with reference to professional water damage restoration enabling us to:
understand professional and ethical standards
understand the health, safety and environmental aspects of water damage
have a better understanding of water damage and its various stages of mitigation and remediation
have a better understanding of loss assessments and the importance of data capture
have a better understanding of moisture surveying equipment, techniques and moisture reports
have a better understanding of the science of water, psychrometrics and drying physics
have a better understanding of restorative drying equipment and their applications
use restorative drying equipment in a much broader sense and application
add value to the claim and their respective organisations
develop their own knowledge and competence and perform with more confidence
The Professional Water Damage Restoration: Mitigation, Remediation & Structural Drying for Practitioners course has 2 Parts – Part 1 ‘Management – Units A and B’ and Part 2 ‘Operations – Units C and D’.
Part 1 Management is intended to teach the basic principles of general management and ‘soft skills’.
Part 2 Operations is intended to teach the practical applications of professional mitigation, remediation and structural drying.
Taught over three (3) days, this course covers the basic requirements necessary for practitioners. Practitioners who successfully complete the course and pass the examination may wish to undertake a more in‐depth course in Professional Water Damage Restoration or a more in‐depth course in associated separate subjects.
